Bank Sarasin-Alpen and Alpen Capital organized a charity walk on Friday, 26 March, 2010 to support the children of Haiti through Dubai Cares in partnership with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The event was a huge success and was attended by over 350 participants.
The Charity Walk was open to all members of the DIFC community, family and friends in order to raise funds to support Dubai Cares' efforts in addressing the post-disaster needs of the primary education sector and, developing and implementing programs that will cater to the long-term educational needs of the children in Haiti and help re-build their lives.

Lead by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Cares was a charitable campaign that served to bring together the multicultural community of Dubai to focus on raising money to support a global cause. The primary goal of the Dubai Cares campaign 2007 was to raise money to support children's primary education globally and especially in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Alpen Capital, being active in several charitable programs, was greatly motivated by the Dubai Cares Campaign. Hence, Alpen Capital along with its associate Bank Sarasin-Alpen supported the cause through a contribution of AED 1 million towards the initiative.
Since 2005, Alpen has been a sponsor of the Falcon program established under the patronage of Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment.
Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mayed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai Balloon Festival was the largest spectacle of its kind in the Middle East and a major highlight of the Dubai Shopping Festival.
The Dubai Balloon Festival showcased more than 75 balloons from all over the world with internationally renowned pilots who engrossed the crowds visiting the Global Village.
